My family love Matcha (Green Tea) not only as a beverage but in baked goods and sweets as well. We like to try out anything with green tea or flavored with it. I have always wanted to make this matcha dessert since it is not only light but easy to prepare as well.
You just need a few ingredients to make this. Of course you will need matcha powder or green tea powder. There are those specially made for cooking or baking. You can get these at most Asian stores. Make sure you a good quality one since this greatly affects the taste your finish product.
Place 1 cup milk in a saucepan and heat it just until bubbles form on the sides. Don’t let it come to a boil. Remove from heat. Then whisk in 1 tbsp matcha powder. 1 tsp. unflavored gelatin powder and 3 tbsp.sugar until completely dissolved. Let the mixture cool for a bit before adding 1 cup heavy cream. Stir until everything is well combined. Strain mixture then equally divide it into your containers or mold. Let it set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Dust some matcha powder on top and add some whipped cream before serving.
